Surface Transducer - Small
The Surface Transducer (Small) turns almost any surface into a speaker. Instead of a traditional cone, the voice coil is attached to a pad that conducts vibrations into whatever surface it's pressed against — tables, walls, enclosures, or panels.
Simply connect it to an audio source and place it firmly against a flat surface to produce sound. The transducer excites the surface, effectively turning it into a speaker diaphragm.
Key Features
- Surface-Driven Sound – Vibrates any flat surface to produce audio output
- Compact Size – Just 21.5 × 14.5 × 7.9 mm for discreet installation
- Wide Frequency Response – 300–19,000 Hz covers most of the audible range
- Low Impedance – 8 Ω (±5%) for compatibility with standard audio amplifiers
Specifications
- Impedance – 8 ±5% Ω
- Resonant Frequency – 16 ±0.5 kHz
- Max Operating Voltage – 12 Vpp
- Frequency Response – 300–19,000 Hz
- Rated Input – 1.0 W
- Maximum Input – 2.0 W
- Operating Temperature – −20 to +60 °C
- Dimensions – 21.5 × 14.5 × 7.9 mm
Ideal For
- Interactive art and sound installations
- Hidden or embedded speaker projects
- Musical instruments and resonance experiments
- IoT devices with audio feedback
