RN-XV WiFly Module - Wire Antenna
The RN-XV WiFly module by Roving Networks is a certified Wi-Fi solution designed as a drop-in replacement for XBee modules. It uses the standard 802.15.4 XBee footprint, so existing XBee-based hardware can migrate to TCP/IP Wi-Fi networking without a board redesign.
Based on the RN-171 Wi-Fi module, it includes an 802.11 b/g radio, 32-bit processor, TCP/IP stack, real-time clock, crypto accelerator, and power management unit. In the simplest configuration, only four connections are needed: power, TX, RX, and ground.
Key Features
- XBee-Compatible Footprint – Drop-in replacement for 802.15.4 modules
- Ultra-Low Power – 4 µA sleep mode, 38 mA active
- Onboard TCP/IP Stack – DHCP, UDP, DNS, ARP, ICMP, HTTP client, FTP client, and TCP
- Configurable TX Power – 0 dBm to 12 dBm
- TTL UART Interface – Up to 464 Kbps host data rate
- Ad-Hoc & Infrastructure Networking – Flexible network topologies
- 8 Digital I/O – General-purpose GPIO
- 3 Analogue Inputs – For sensor integration
- Real-Time Clock – Time-stamping, auto-sleep, and auto-wakeup
- Wire Antenna – Included on-board
- 3.3 V Operation – Regulated power supply required
