EL tape is the flat, wide cousin of EL wire — same glowing effect but in a 1cm-wide strip format. The glowing surface is 1cm wide (plastic coating is about 1.5cm), with adhesive on the back for easy mounting. Covered in a PVC-like material for weather resistance, though the connectors are not fully waterproof.

This 100cm strip comes with two EL connectors (one on each end), so you can cut it into two pieces of any length and use both halves. EL tape is about 4× more capacitive per length than high-brightness EL wire, so it requires a more powerful inverter.
